Studio Behind ‘Dear Esther’ Developing Horror Game Set on Oil Rig – ‘Still Wakes the Deep’

The Chinese Room, known for creating Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Dear Esther, and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, has returned with a new horror game called Still Wakes the Deep. This narrative horror game takes the studio back to its origins and is set on an oil rig in 1975. The game is played in first-person and the trailer showcases a series of intense and deadly moments on the rig.

Here’s how The Chinese Room describes the game: “Disaster strikes the Beira D oil rig off the coast of Scotland. Navigate the collapsing rig to save your crew from an otherworldly horror at the edge of all logic and reality.”

Still Wakes the Deep is set to arrive on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Game Pass in early 2024.
